at FRM-2, Garching (Germany)
The third meeting took place at FRM-2 (near Munich). Gunther Borchert (P6) hosted this meeting and organised a tour of their recently built 3He laboratory as well as a quick tour of the new neutron source. This was a great opportunity for NSF-JRA participants to discover one of the new world's leading MEOP stations.
The first day, there was an open session during which Partners and Observers reported on their recent achievements. E. Babcock, from the University of Wisconsin Madison, also presented the state-of-the-art in Hybrid-SEOP. In the evening, the JRA participants have clinked their German wheatbeer glasses and enjoyed a good Bavarian meal. The next day, the NSF-JRA representatives had a long closed meeting during which both scientific and administrative matters were discussed.
